  • ​Spiritual Formation for the Whole Person

10:15am   Breakout Session A
  • Using Imagery in Spiritual Formation with Katie Skurja​
    • Carl Jung said the soul understands at the symbolic level. Using imagery can help access deeply held beliefs, feelings, and unconscious desires. This workshop will explore the use of imagery and introduce a tool that can be immediately incorporated into any practice. Repeated in Session B.
  • Behold the Soul: Our Companion’s Eyes with Sheldon Hurst
    • ​Our companion brings a different set of eyes to our own seeing. How does this impact and assist our spiritual formation?​ Repeated in Session B.
  • Spiritual Formation with Children: Helping Children Respond to the Invitation to Relationship with the Trinity with Lacy Borgo​​
    • ​In this workshop we will explore the four element of children’s spiritual formation. We will engage specific practices within these four elements useful for the adventure of children’s ministry and the adventure of parenting. Repeated in Session B.
  • Lectio Divina: Creating a Safe and Sacred Space through Contemplative Prayer with Kathi Gatlin
    • ​Hosting a safe and sacred formational space requires trust in the leader, each other, and most importantly God. This workshop will be a place to explore how to create this kind of space while experiencing it in a group setting through a Lectio Divina prayer experience.

    • Experience writing together in a quiet contemplative space, while learning how to host a safe and sacred space for others. This will be a time for centering reflection and listening through writing prompts and spaciousness. Explore, process, and integrate what you are experiencing throughout this day utilizing writing, sharing, and generous listening. Repeated in Session D.

​1:30pm     Second Main Session - Lacy Finn Borgo
  • Learning from the Mini Mystics: Entering the Kingdom of God Like a Child 
    • In Luke 18, Jesus admonishes his listeners to receive the kingdom of God as child. For years I wondered just what that meant. Gratefully God opened my ears and eyes to children and they have taught me. Children have led me into six practices that come naturally to them, ones that we adults have lost, that have the potential to lead us into the kingdom life of abundance, peace and transformation.

2:30pm     Breakout Session C
  • Intro to the Enneagram with Katie Skurja
    • ​The Enneagram is the oldest known spiritual growth/personality tool. It has the capacity to identify not only the strengths of the various personalities, but also the weaknesses and compulsive drives. It is a dynamic tool that can help move people get unstuck and move toward integration.
  • Creating Life-Giving Rhythms with Jean Nevills
    • Choosing rhythms that result in my becoming the unique reflection of Christ I’m meant to be in a life that matters: Wholehearted, connected and joyful. ​Repeated in Session D.
  • We Practice Listening with Lynn Holt
    • ​Using Godly Play, a means of sharing Biblical and spiritual truths with sacred storytelling, this workshop will speak to listening with our whole selves. Repeated in Session D.
  • Creating a Safe and Sacred Space through Contemplative Prayer: The Examen with Kathi Gatlin
    • ​​Hosting a safe and sacred space requires trust in the leader, each other, and most importantly God. This workshop will be a place to explore how to create this kind of space while experiencing it in a group setting through an Examen prayer experience.

  • Soul Care: Finding a Friend with Sheldon Hurst
    • ​Caring for the soul is more than finding a safe space. It is finding a friend with whom to find aphorisms.
