About Lynn... |
Lynn Clouser Holt has served as a Quaker pastor and a spiritual director/supervisor for over 20 years. In addition, she has the opportunity to walk alongside students as an adjunct professor at Portland Seminary, teaching topics such as: pastoral ministry, spiritual direction, and personal transformation. Lynn has also had the privilege of working overseas in Palestine; expanding her capacity to see, hold, and respond to injustice and suffering.
Lynn and her husband, Jon, who died in 2012, have five children and nine grandchildren. The experience of knowing great love and great loss motivate Lynn’s heart of service for others. Her response to students and those she walks alongside is to offer the hospitality as a fellow traveler by providing a listening ear and genuine care. Lynn does not shy away from the tough questions of faith – encouraging others of her belief that God is honored by our searching and authentic questions. In addition, she encourages her students and directees to think outside the box with regard to their relationship with God, self, and others. Lynn's view of spiritual direction is to host a safe place for deep listening and connection to notice God’s movement and invitation in one's life. TrainingLynn is a certified Spiritual Director and has completed supervision training the Mercy Center. She has completed an M.Div. and is currently pursuing a DMin of Leadership and Spiritual Formation at Portland Seminary.

A Little About Our Time Together through Spiritual Direction or Supervision

Focus in Our Meetings: Direction times are centered on material or questions you bring. It is a time to reflect on and hold what God is doing in your life together in God’s presence. It is important to remember that God is the real Director in our time together.
Meeting Format: Direction is available either in-person in Newberg or virtually through an online format.
Schedule: Direction meetings are usually spread out with three weeks to a month in between to allow for processing on the journey. Supervision sessions are usually once a month or as needed with experienced directors.
Referrals: Lynn is not trained to be a counselor, psychotherapist, or a legal or financial advisor and so will refer psychological, medical and other such issues to trained professionals.
Confidentiality: Lynn views these conversations as sacred and will hold them with strict confidence.
Fee: Lynn's desire is to not allow affordability to be a barrier in receiving spiritual direction. If it is a problem, let’s discuss options. Her current fee is $80 for a 1-hour spiritual direction session and $90 for 1-hour of supervision.
